3 Waste Management Supervisors Convicted of Hiring Illegal Workers

Published:

Three supervisors for Waste Management in Houston, TX have been sentenced to prison for knowingly hiring 10 or more illegal aliens. The men had encouraged illegal aliens to take the identities of U.S. citizens so that they could hire them.

In 2012 the defendants “fired” at least 10 known illegal aliens when they failed to supply valid identification and work permits. The men then encouraged the illegal aliens to steal the identities of U.S. citizens in order to obtain “good papers” showing they had a legal right to work in the U.S. The illegal aliens were then re-hired under the stolen names and issued paychecks. The U.S. citizens had no idea that their identities had been stolen.

Salvadorans Rudy Alexander Martinez, 36, and Israel Arquimides Martinez, 44 were convicted of conspiring to employ and actually employed illegal aliens according to ICE officials. The jury also convicted the two men of aggravated identity theft, which carries a two-year sentence. Rudy and Israel were sentenced to 94 and 87 months respectively and will face deportation after completing their prison term.

Ceasar Santiago Arroyo, 51, a Houston resident and U.S. citizen, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and was sentenced to 27 months.
