The Accountability Through Verification Act (by Chuck Grassley, R-IA) would require all employers to use E-Verify to check the work authorization for all new hires – and all existing employees who have not yet been checked – within one year, increase penalties for employers who knowingly hire illegal workers, and crack down on unauthorized aliens using false or stolen Social Security numbers.

H.R. 251 The Legal Workforce Act

The Legal Workforce Act (by Ken Calvert, R-CA) would require most employers to begin using the E-Verify system for all new hires within two years, increase fines for employers who knowingly hire illegal workers, and require the Social Security Administration to notify employers when a Social Security number is used multiple times.
