Introducing our 5 Great Immigration-Reduction Bills Tracker
When it comes to reforming our nation's immigration laws, NumbersUSA favors 5 actions that would significantly reduce the illegal alien population and the number of legal immigrants admitted to the United States annually -- End Chain Migration, Mandatory E-Verify for all employers, End the Visa Lottery, End Birthright Citizenship, and Help with Local Enforcement of federal immigration laws.
As of this week, great bills have been introduced to carry out all 5 of those actions.
With Members in the current Congress from both sides of the aisle eager to introduce great legislation, we actually have more than 5 bills that will help achieve our legislative goals. And we have created a special web page to make it easy for you to track every single one of these great bills. (These bills would not be symbolic actions. And the bills are not so radical that they could never pass. These are serious, practical bills that would, nonetheless, revolutionize our immigration policies.)
This is an example of what you will see on our 5 Great Immigration-Reduction Bills page:
Each column represents one of our 5 key issues with one or more bills that would achieve that legislative goal. Members of Congress who have cosponsored at least one of the bills are listed on the grid with a YES denoting cosponsorships.
If your state's Members are not listed, visit your Action Board for faxes urging them to cosponsor the bills. If your Members are listed, thank them for their cosponsorship and urge them to co-sponsor the other bills listed.
The House was in recess last week, but they return to business on Monday afternoon. It's a great time to send those faxes to Congress!
Where to find our 5 Great Bills
If you're wondering where to find our 5 Great Immigration-Reduction Bills grid on our website, it's easy to find. Go to our homepage (http://www.numbersusa.com) and roll your mouse over the "Hot Topics" option on our menu bar. In the drop-down menu, "5 Great Bills" is the first choice.
Once you've navigated to the grid, you can learn more about each of the bills by clicking on the bill number at the top of each column.
