Bogus Polls (that leave out Attrition) Are Popping Up Everywhere to Proclaim That Americans Now Support Amnesty
The Gingrich Amnesty proposal has suddenly revived all kinds of interest nationwide in trying again to legalize millions of illegal aliens. Nowhere is the frenzy higher than among media and academic pollsters who have rushed out to prove that Americans are really OK with letting 7 million illegal aliens keep their non-ag jobs instead of letting unemployed Americans have them. Of course, the polls don't state it that way which is a reason they get their results.
There will be more to write at a later time about these polls, but I caution all readers to not despair that Americans suddenly have become open borders supporters.
The pollsters have a single "Big Trick" that skews all the results:
The polls don't give voters the option of Attrition Through Enforcement.
Instead, they make voters basically choose between mass deportations or mass legalizations. In the case of a National Journal poll just released, voters were given a third choice of half-mass deportations and half-mass legalizations (which is essentially the Gingrich Amnesty).
But nowhere do voters hear that there is an Attrition Through Enforcement option that doesn't involve mass deportations or mass legalizations. What Attrition does do is:
- Quickly (over a couple of years) moves illegal aliens out of their payroll jobs.
- Quickly takes away taxpayer-provided benefits
- Gradually over perhaps 10 years causes illegal aliens to go home on their own.
The mass media won't accept Attrition as an option because it involves millions of foreign citizens remaining illegally in our country for awhile (under legalization's like Gingrich's, the illegal aliens would still be in the country but they would no longer be called illegal).
But under Attrition, the harm of the illegal aliens who do remain for awhile will be largely minimized. They will no longer be harming American workers or taxpayers.
I hope you will take every opportunity to contact the news organizations, think tanks and other polling organizations and let them know that you are aware of their "Big Trick" and that their polling has to be regarded as unprofessional until Attrition is included in the options.
