Rep. Stockman circulates 'No Conference' letter to colleagues
Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) has drafted a letter asking House Speaker John Boehner to make a public commitment that he will stay true to his earlier announcement to address immigration on a piece-by-piece basis. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Pres. Barack Obama, and members of the Senate Gang of Eight have all said that if the House passes any legislation, it can be used to advance the Senate-approved comprehensive amnesty bill.
Rep. Stockman's letter asks Speaker Boehner not hold a vote on any immigration-related legislation without publicly stating that he will not got to conference with the Senate on a comprehensive piece of legislation.
[W]e respectfully ask that you not bring up any immigration-related bills without a commitment that the House will not conference House bills on immigration-related issues with a comprehensive or multi-issue bill from the Senate.

Rep. Stockman sent a "Dear Colleague" to all Republican House Members urging them to sign onto the letter before he officially delivers it to Speaker Boehner. To read the letter in its entirety, click here.
