Missouri Local Police Arrest 12 Believed to be Illegal Aliens
Earlier this week, police in Cape Girardeau, Mo. arrested 12 people believed to be illegal aliens. The arrests make 51 people detained by Cape Girardeau police since July in an effort to help Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
After the arrests were made, the department contacted the ICE who was interested in charging the suspected illegal aliens.
All 12 arrested said they worked for Gilster-Mary Lee Corp. in Perryville, Mo., which is a food packing plant. So far in October, Cape Girardeau officers have turned over 23 suspects to the ICE. All arrests have resulted from people being detained on other charges.
