Rep. McKinley Cosponsors Chairman Smith's Mandatory E-Verify Bill
Rep. David McKinley (R-W.V.) cosponsored House Judiciary Chairman Lamar Smith's Legal Workforce Act (H.R. 2885) over last week's House recess. Rep. McKinley is one NumbersUSA's 11 5-for-5ers for sponsoring at least one bill in each of our 5 Great Immigration-Reduction Solution categories; an honor he had earned well before his cosponsorship of Chairman Smith's bill.
The Legal Workforce Act would require 100% of businesses in the United States to begin using E-Verify for all new hires within 2 years of enactment. The bill also requires all federal and state agencies to begin using E-Verify within 6 months as well as check the status of all existing employers. The bill is vital to ending illegal immigration using an attrition through enforcement approach.
Rep. McKinley is a freshman Member of Congress and has already cosponsored the CLEAR Act (H.R. 100), the Birthright Citizenship Act of 2011 (H.R. 140), the Nuclear Family Priority Act (H.R. 692), the Safe for America Act (H.R. 704), and multiple mandatory E-Verify bills.
