Rep. Frank Guinta Cosponsors Chairman Smith's E-Verify Bill
Freshman Rep. Frank Guinta (R-N.H..) has cosponsored House Judiciary Chairman Lamar Smith's Legal Workforce Act (H.R. 2885) that would require 100% of businesses to use E-Verify for new hires within 2 years. By cosponsoring Chairman Smith's bill, Rep. Guinta has now cosponsored at least one bill in two of our 5 Great Immigration Solution categories.
Rep. Guinta represents New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District after defeating two-term incumbent Carol Shea-Porter last fall. In just his first term, Rep. Guinta has already earned a career B grade.
The Legal Workforce Act could potentially open up 7 million non-agricultural jobs currently held by illegal aliens for 22 million Americans who want a full-time job but can't find one. The bill would phase in E-Verify for all businesses over 2 years and require all federal and state governments to begin using E-Verify within 6 months. The bill would also identify illegal aliens currently holding jobs by reinstating the No-Match letter program and notifying owners of Social Security numbers that are use multiple times.
The bill now has 50 total sponsors.
