(May 8) Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) has called for a National Day of Prayer for law enforcement officials and, specifically, for jailed Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, who are currently serving federal prison terms for wounding an illegal alien drug smuggler. At a press conference this week, Rep. Rohrabacher said, “I hope the appellate court judges [presiding over their appeal] hear our prayers and move to issue a decision quickly freeing Ramos and Compean to be reunited with their families.” The National Day of Prayer will be held on Sunday, May 11th, which also marks the beginning of National Police Week - a time when the nation honors the men and women in uniform who put their lives on the line to protect our communities.
