Rep. Walter Jones Becomes First to Earn 5-for-5 Status
Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) has become the first Congressman in the 112th Congress to earn 5-for-5 status from NumbersUSA. Rep. Jones earned the status by co-sponsoring all five of our "5 Great Immigration-Reduction Bills".
"These five bills would solve most of our nation's immigration problems," NumbersUSA President Roy Beck said.
Rep. Jones has co-sponsored legislation that would:
- end chain migration and thereby reduce the number of green cards issued each year by nearly 250,000 (H.R.692),
- end the visa lottery that awards 50,000 green cards through pure luck (H.R.704),
- free up jobs held by illegal aliens by requiring all employers to use E-Verify (H.R.800),
- end the practice of birthright citizenship (H.R.140), and
- help local officials enforce federal immigration laws (H.R.100).
Rep. Jones represents North Carolina's 3rd Congressional District, and he's serving his 9th term in Congress. He has earned a career A Immigration-Reduction grade.
In the last Congress, 18 Members of Congress earned 5-for-5 status. To see a full list of this year's co-sponsors of our 5 Great Bills, click here.
