Colorado Cleaning Company Sues Competitors Alleging they Hired Illegal Workers
Dustbusters has had the contract to clean the city library for more than 10 years, but they lost the bid in 2008 to Longmont's Finishing Touch who placed a bid $21,000 less than Dustbusters.
“Finishing Touch was able to submit a lower bid than their competitors ... because they knowingly employ or contract with illegal aliens to perform the work and as such, are able to pay those workers less than legal workers,” the suit says.
Dustbusters is saying the same for Loveland's Porter Industries who outbid the company for several city building contracts. Porter Industries is denying the claim.
The city does require that companies it contracts with hire legal workers, but no sanctions have been filed against the two listed in the Dustbusters' lawsuit.
