Texas Voters Disagree with Many Aspects of the Gang of Eight Bill

A poll of 500 likely Texas voters showed that most of the state opposes many aspects of the Senate’s Gang of Eight bill. In every question the Senate bill only received a minority of support.

Key Findings:

  • 62% want to reduce immigration to slow down Texas population growth.
  • 61% oppose increasing the number of green cards for new immigrants.
  • 80% believe that there are plenty of unemployed less-educated Americans to fill jobs instead of using foreign workers.
  • 49% want illegal aliens already in the U.S. to receive work permits only AFTER full implementation of enforcement of immigration laws has been accomplished.
