NumbersUSA attacks Schumer-Rubio on unemployment in radio ad
NumbersUSA, the low-immigration activist group founded by Roy Beck, launched an 18-state radio ad buy today opposing the Schumer-Rubio immigration bill that was voted out of the Senate Judiciary Committee last week. The script of the ad, which will run continuously form now until the Senate either rejects or passes the immigration bill, is below:
Jobs — 20 million of our friends, family and neighbors still can’t find one.
Young adults are wondering if they’ll ever be financially independent.
So, why is Congress talking about giving 33 million new work permits to foreign job seekers.
That’s like putting the entire population of Canada in line for American jobs.
The politicians call it immigration reform.
What kind of reform brings in more foreign job-seekers when what 20 million Americans need is more jobs?
“The Gang of Eight bill abandons the 20 million of our fellow Americans who need a job; and it does so for the purpose of rewarding the wealthy special interests who wrote the bill and who will reap the profits of further glutting the labor market and driving down the wages of American workers,” Beck said in a statement. “Under the flood of tens of millions more foreign workers over the next decades, more middle-class occupations will collapse and essential jobs that now pay near-poverty wages will have little chance of improving.”
