Numbers USA: Romney has strict conditions for amnesty
Roy Beck is founder and president of Numbers USA. He says it is unfortunate that Mitt Romney's response to Obama's move was somewhat tepid.
"He made it clear this is the wrong thing to do," he remarks. "[But] I don't think he came out nearly strong enough to say it's basically an illegal thing to do."
Beck says Romney is willing to consider an amnesty, but only with strict conditions.
"It's very clear what he wants is some kind of an amnesty for these young illegal aliens, but only if combined with national mandatory E-verify and with a fully implemented entry-exit system, completion of the fence and increased Border Patrol," he tells OneNewsNow.
Beck says while one can argue with Governor Romney about his willingness to concede on the issue of amnesty, it is not the same as what Obama is pushing -- which Beck describes as solely amnesty.
