Majority of Americans Say Border is Not Secure
A new poll conducted by Rasmussen in the days following Pres. Barack Obama's immigration speech in El Paso, Texas last week finds that the overwhelming majority of Americans disagree with the President's assessment of our Southwest border with Mexico. 64% of likely voters said the border is not secure, while only 30% feel that the border is somewhat secure.
Only 3% of respondents believe the border is very secure, and 29% believe the border is not secure at all.
The results were heavily skewed down party-lines with 51% of Democrats saying the border is secure, and 86% of Republicans saying it's not secure. However, 65% of independent voters feel that the border is not secure.
