Obama Budget Provides Boost for DHS, Including E-Verify

President Obama released his budget proposal today, which includes a 6.5 percent increase for the Department of Homeland Security. The budget would increase spending for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Border Patrol and E-Verify.
According to a report on - ICE would get $1.4 billion for the agency’s efforts to identify and deport illegal aliens who have committed crimes
- $368 million for existing border patrol agents at the Customs and Border Protection agency
- $110 million to continue expanding the E-Verify system
