WH Promises to Veto Most Ambitious Immigration Bill if Passed by House

Published:

On Monday, the White House announced that Joe Biden would veto the House of Representatives’ attempt to reign in the President’s border crisis, should the legislation reach his desk.

“If the president were presented with H.R. 2, he would veto it,” the White House Budget Office said, as it is ‘too tough’ on illegal aliens.

Despite nearly two years of the White House cowardly telling the American people its hands are tied and shifting blame to Congress for not addressing matters of immigration - the White House has now promised to veto H.R. 2 - Congress’s most ambitious immigration reform bill ever voted on.

According to the White House:

The bill [H.R. 2] would cut off nearly all access to humanitarian protections in ways that are inconsistent with our Nation’s values and international obligations.

The Washington Times adds that the administration also complained about the bill cutting money to nongovernmental organizations that welcome and resettle illegal aliens.
